Interlaken

Interlaken literally means ‘between two lakes’ and the city of Interlaken is located between two of the most beautiful lakes in the world!

I highly recommend taking one of the foot paths along the river to one of the lakes and soak up every minute of the gorgeous views.

The main road in Interlaken is Höheweg. It is the road that connects both train stations, and is lined with hotels, restaurants, and shops. It is perfect for strolling through town and taking in all the sights & sounds. It is also lined with tourist shops & boutique stores.

Stop by Höhematte – a park in the middle of Interlaken where you can relax under a tree and enjoy watching paragliders waft down from the sky and land!

One of the absolutely most spectacular things to do in Interlaken is to go up the funicular to Harder Klum. The views from the top are spectacular! There is also a restaurant at the top, so you can take in the views while enjoying delicious Swiss cuisine. The lines can get long waiting for the funicular, so make sure to schedule enough time!
